Mother Who Loved 'Unconditionally' Identified As Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crash
A Union Beach woman who "lit up every room she entered" was struck by a vehicle and killed near a busy Hazlet intersection, according to a fundraising campaign. Tracey Ryan, 52, was identified as the pedestrian who died in the Route 36 crash, a Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson said on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The collision happened near the intersection with Union Avenue at around 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. A Jersey Shore assemblyman's car was stolen by thieves in Hazlet, authorities said. Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, R-Brick Township, said in a Facebook post that his car was taken from his mother-in-law's house in Hazlet just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. A Monmouth County man and woman were accused of assaulting another couple at an Atlantic City casino's shopping mall, authorities said. More than 8,000 New Jersey residents were without power amid another round of storms on Sunday, June 22. PSE&G's outage map shows 5,341 were in the dark in Burlington County and more than 3,000 in Camden. The majority of the outages were in Maple Shade, Moorestown, Haddon and Pennsauken. NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Jersey Shore
A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt. No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time. The train departed Long Branch at 7:10 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 8:41 a.m. Customers from train 3224 were being transferred to a following train.
