Philadelphia Woman Sentenced For Brandishing Handgun In Atlantic City A 23-year-old woman from Philadelphia was sentenced to 270 days in jail on a weapons offense, authorities said. Shania Simon was sentenced Monday, April 17 pending an appeal for possessing a handgun, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Simon originally pleaded guilty on Sept. 1, 2022, and agreed to a recommended sentence of three years in New Jersey State Prison with a one-year period of parole ineligibility, the prosecutor said.
