Boat Fire At Marina Sends Thick Smoke Into Sky Over Wildwood: Reports
A large boat caught fire at a marina in Wildwood, according to reports and social media posts. The fire broke out on a 41-foot boat named "Luv-It" at Schooner Island Marina at around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, CBS Philadelphia reported. 'Heartless And Despicable': NJ Broker Who Scammed $3.7M From Gold Star Families Sentenced
A former Army financial counselor from Colts Neck will spend more than a decade in prison after admitting to scamming Gold Star families out of more than $3 million, authorities said. Caz Craffy, 42, was sentenced on Wednesday, Aug. 21 to 12 years and seven months in prison, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release. NJ Firefighter Severely Injured In Crash Day Before Father's Greek Burial
Support is on the rise for a New Jersey firefighter who was severely injured in a car crash the night before he was set his father's burial in Greece. Anthony Zougras, a Martinsville firefighter, was in the crash on Wednesday, Aug. 7, according to a GoFundMe set up to support his medical expenses. Zougras' father, Dionysios, had died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 21 and it was his wish to be buried in his hometown of Zakynthos, Greece, according to the fundraiser. Teen Violating Curfew Found With 300+ Bags Of Heroin In Atlantic City, Police Say
Three Atlantic County teens were arrested for refusing to leave a business after curfew, including one who was accused of having heroin and cocaine, authorities said. Atlantic City police responded to the business on the 2600 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 1:17 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, the department said in a news release. A 35-year-old Trenton resident was identified as the man struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Parsippany Monday evening, Aug. 19, authorities said. Jelson Cabrera was struck on Route 46 West near Sandra Drive, a spokeswoman for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The vehicle fled the scene, authorities said. A Vineland man was convicted of sexually assaulting two children for a decade more than 20 years ago, authorities said.
