Gerard Asselta, 64, of Vineland was pronounced dead at the crash scene  north of Tuckahoe Road and Harding Highway in Franklin Township, police said in a statement. The single-engine craft took off from a residence on Union Road in Vineland and crashed about1 p.m., police said. It was not clear where Asselta was headed.
