The widow of a North Jersey veterinarian who’d been known as the “animal whisperer” was arrested for continuing to operate his clinic without a license, authorities announced Monday.
Alia Muslih, 39, of Montclair was charged with animal cruelty, among other counts, after Passaic County prosecutor’s detectives raided the Totowa Animal Hospital along with local police, the DEA, the state Division of Consumer Affairs and animal control officers from Paterson and Clifton.

An ex-con from Paterson who'd already done time on a gun conviction is bound for federal prison -- this time for selling 16 weapons.
Rather than face trial, Floyd “HK” Henry, 36, took a deal from the government, pleading guilty via videoconference with a federal judge in Newark to gun selling, as well as being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammo.
Henry sold two semi-automatic rifles, three revolvers and 11 semi-automatic pistols – as well as over 100 rounds of ammunition -- when ATF agents arrested him in September 2019, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.

Gotcha! Fugitive Paterson Brothers Wanted In Double Murder Captured In South Carolina
Two fugitive brothers from Paterson were captured and charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of two city men during the July 4th weekend, authorities announced Tuesday.
Jose Edgar Martinez-Garcia, 33, and Francisco Martinez-Garcia, 27, were nabbed by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, they said.
Both were sought in the stabbing deaths of Jaime Hernandez, 44, and Johnny Jimenez, 36, in the parking lot of Public School No. 5 off Totowa Avenue.
