DUI Driver Seriously Injures Family Thanksgiving Morning On Route 1 In Edison, Prosecutor Says A 31-year-old DUI driver is facing multiple charges in a crash that left a family and a teenager seriously injured in Edison, police said. Alyssa Figueredo, 31, of Cranford, drove through a red light around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 on Route 1 north at Parsonage Road in Edison, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said. 2 Injured, 1 Critically, In Somerset County Fire: Prosecutor Authorities are investigating the cause of a Somerset County fire that hurt two residents, one critically. The blaze broke out at a home on Mountain Avenue in North Plainfield around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, June 4, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said alongside local Police Chief William Parenti. Two men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them remained in critical condition, McDonald said. Man, 63, Dies In Piscataway House Fire A 63-year-old man died in a Piscataway house fire Saturday. Smoke billowed from 827 Maple Ave., as firefighters arrived following a neighbor's 9-1-1 call, police said. Fire responders pulled the unconscious victim and started performing CPR, before he was taken to JFK Medical Center, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The New Market Fire Company, PSE&G, Piscataway Office of Emergency Management and the Piscataway Fire Inspector responded. Police did not release the victim's identity.
