Police have identified the two people killed in a three-vehicle crash on a Newark bridge over the weekend. Anaji Ryan, of Carteret, was driving a Ford Focus which collided with a Dodge Durango and Subaru Outback on the Raymond Boulevard Bridge in the city’s Ironbound section around 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Police were investigating after two men were shot in a New Brunswick neighborhood near the Rutgers University campus, authorities said. A motorcyclist escaped serious injury after she crashed in Jackson on Friday afternoon, July 26, authorities said. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. Two cats and a dog died in a pre-Christmas fire that severely damaged a Bergenfield home. Firefighters who responded within three minutes were met by flames on the first floor of the 2½-story Lunn Avenue home shortly after 1 p.m., Bergenfield Fire Chief Edward J Kneisler III said. 100 Central Jersey Firefighters Braved Blaze During Blizzard, 3 Hurt
More than 100 firefighters battled a major house fire as this week's blizzard ramped up in Central Jersey, authorities said. The fire started in a wood-framed, mixed-use building on Broad Street in Manasquan shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday. The building’s owner told News 12 that three people lived on the upper floors of the building and that they were able to escape.
