Fire Damages Building On Yeshiva Complex In New Castle A blaze at a building on the Yeshiva property in Northern Westchester prompted an hours-long response from fire crews. Smoke From Roof Of DPW Building Prompts Emergency Response In Croton Firefighters in Northern Westchester were called into action after smoke was spotted coming from the roof of a Department of Public Works building.  The incident happened on Sunday, Jan. 5, at around 3:30 p.m., when a passerby reported the smoke coming from the Croton-on-Hudson DPW building on Yorktown Road, according to the village's fire department.
