Woodbridge Officer Fractures Neck, Back After Being Struck While Helping Person On Route 35
A Woodbridge police officer suffered a fractured neck and back when he was struck by a vehicle while trying to get a person out of the roadway, authorities said.
The officer, a member of the Woodbridge PBA 38 Executive Board, was struck on Route 35 on Tuesday night, Sept. 29, the union said.
The officer was attempting to get an individual who was in the roadway to safety when he was struck, according to the PBA. He suffered a fractured neck and back, a severe cut to his head, and several scrapes and road rash to his face and arms, the union said.

A Brick Township man accused of helping a Toms River murder suspect evade authorities has surrendered, officials said.
Ronald Hagan, 50, surrendered to the Toms River Township Police Department in the presence of his attorney Monday morning, Sept. 28, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

A second New York man has been charged in a Molotov cocktail attack in New Jersey, authorities announced Monday, Sept. 28.
Tahkem Boynton, 28, of Fresh Meadows, Queens, was identified by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office.
Boynton and Tashaun Normand, 42, of the Bronx, teamed up for the attack in South Toms River back on March 23, investigators said. Normand was arrested days later in Tennessee and extradited back to New Jersey in July, according to authorities.

Prosecutors are reopening a criminal investigation into members of a Cornell University fraternity accused of a gang rape, according to reports.
The Tompkins County District Attorney's Office told ABC News on Monday, Sept. 28, that it plans to present the case to a grand jury. Cops Shoot Dog During Attack On Family In Sayreville, Prosecutor Says
Three family members were hospitalized after being attacked by their dog in Central Jersey, authorities said.
Sayreville police received a 911 distress call at 7:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, from a man who said his girlfriend, mother, and stepfather were being attacked by the dog, Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera said.
Officers arriving at the scene shot the dog to stop the attack, Estremera said.
