U.S. News & World Report has released its 2026-27 list of the best high schools in the country, ranking nearly 18,000 public schools across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Danielle Teplicky, a special education teacher from New Jersey, died suddenly, leaving behind three pets that need homes, loved ones say.
Danielle Teplicky died Thursday, Aug. 13, according to a GoFundMe launched by Kaitlyn Amato.
Teplicky was based in Linden and worked as a special education teacher in Elizabeth, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She was a 1994 graduate of Roselle Catholic High School, according to a post shared by the Roselle Catholic High School Alumni group.

Jarvis Shabazz, 37, who has ties to New Jersey, Georgia, Malaysia, Morocco, and Albania, was charged with eight counts of interstate threats and two counts of cyberstalking, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced.
