The class of 525 students made up the largest graduating class in recent memory, according to a press release from BOCES. More than 350 students also earned at least three college credits, and as a class the graduates received more than $75,000 in scholarships, according to the release.

The class should celebrate for how well prepared they are for the future, said Superintendent James Langlois.

“You have been able to learn a trade and make decisions about whether this is what you want to do with the rest of your life," Langlois told the students Wednesday, according to the release.

Salutatorian Breanne McCarthy, of Mahopac, said the school gave her a chance to reinvent herself for college.

“I had no idea I was entering the place that would transform me and meeting the woman who would become like a second mother," McCarthy said, according to the release.

Peekskill's Aliyah Singleton gave the valedictory address, thanking teachers for their caring.

“Walking across this stage is truly an honor and we have worked hard to get here,” she said, according to the release.
