Jhonny G. Tuapante, 31, was charged with two misdemeanors – aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration – and an infraction for disobeying a traffic control device, police said.
The charges stemmed from an incident police say happened about 1:10 p.m. Saturday on Route 6.
A police officer on routine patrol said he spotted a driver, later identified as Tuapante, disregard a traffic control device.
Upon further investigation, police say they learned that Tuapante’s driving privileges and motor vehicle registration were both suspended.
Tuapante was arrested and later released on $100 bail, according to police.
Tuapante is scheduled for a hearing Thursday, July 2, in Yorktown Justice Court, police said.
