Police Charge Mohegan Lake Man With Illegal Dumping

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mohegan Lake man has been charged with dumping leaves on a Yorktown resident's property last year, a town code violation.

Police received a call about 3 a.m., Oct. 20, 2014, reporting a person dumping leaves on Stony Street.

An officer was dispatched to the scene and, after an investigation, determined that Branjo Jovanovic, 64, of Mohegan Lake, had illegally dumped leaves on the property, according to a police report.

Police applied for a summons and on Wednesday served it on Jovanovic at his residence at 1202 Stony Manor Court, according to police.

Jovanovic was processed at the scene and ordered to appear Wednesday night in Yorktown Town Court.
