Mahopac Man Faces Grand Larceny Charge in Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y.--A 28-year-old man from Mahopac faces a felony charge of grand larceny after he allegedly made unauthorized charges on a woman’s credit card after stealing the credit card after breaking into her home.

Police responded to the report of a larceny complaint on July 31 at 4:06 p.m. where police investigation revealed the man, Joseph J. Ruocco, of 39 Horton Dr. allegedly entered the woman’s home, stole and used the credit card.

On August 29 at 5 p.m. Ruocco responded to the Yorktown Police Department where he was arrested and processed for the theft. He was released on $1,000 cash bail and is due to appear in Yorktown Court on September 8 at 6 p.m.

Other news from the Yorktown Police Department:

-       Li Bin Xiao, 25, of 1923 Commerce St. faces another charge of violating the town code in allowing/permitting unreasonable noise. Police responded to a call that unreasonable noise was coming from the Wild Fusion Restaurant on June 18 at 2 a.m. The owner of the restaurant, Xiao was issued a criminal summons to appear in Yorktown Court on September 6 at 6 p.m. This is not the first time the restaurant has faced charges due to noise.

-        A 19-year-old female from Brooklyn, NY was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, after she allegedly bit the cheek of another person on August 22. Stewart was served with a temporary order of protection, and she was released on her own recognizance and due to appear in Yorktown Court on September 8 at 6 p.m.

-       Peekskill resident, Anette Ames, 69, is charged with the misdemeanor of petit larceny after she allegedly removed merchandise from Sears having a value of $56.00 from a display and exiting the store without paying on August 18. She was placed under arrest and remanded to Westchester County jail in lie of $5,000 bail.

-       A 21-year-old Shrub Oak resident was arrested on a bench warrant for failing to appear for arraignment for a prior charge of assault, a misdemeanor. Police say a bench warrant was issued for Jonathan Tozzo, 21, of 3729 Oriole Court  on June 16, 2011 and he voluntarily appeared at police headquarters after learning of the warrant and was placed under arrested. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
