John Brown, 82, Yorktown Construction Supervisor

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – John S. Brown, a longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, died April 17. He was 82. 

Brown was retired as a construction superintendent for Carpenters Union Local 163.  

Born in Peekskill to Oscar W. and Helen Brown, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Brown was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and member of the American Legion Yorktown Post.  

Brown was also a life member and former firematic officer of Columbia Hose 1 for the Peekskill Fire Department, the Peekskill Elks Lodge 744, the Peekskill German Social Club and St. Andrew's Church in Yorktown Heights. He enjoyed bass fishing and gardening. 

Brown is survived by four daughters, a son, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor, in 1995. 

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Yorktown Heights. Burial will follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery.
