Hundreds Of Drivers Shown Passing School Buses At School District In Westchester
A pilot program employed by a Northern Westchester school district has found that nearly 400 drivers illegally passed stopped school buses over the span of two months.
The program, used by the Hendrick Hudson School District which serves over 2,000 students in Buchanan, Verplanck, Crugers, Montrose, Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson, and Peekskill, came from a partnership with technology provider BusPatrol, officials from the company announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Speeding, Distracted Driving Top 15K Tickets Issued In Statewide Detail
New York State Police have released ticketing and arrest numbers following the statewide Thanksgiving holiday detail, and speeding and distracted driving have topped the list of citations.
The detail, which was funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, started on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and ran until Sunday, Nov. 25. During this time, State Police used a variety of deterrents, including sobriety checkpoints, extra DWI patrols, and tickets for drivers using their mobile devices behind the wheel.
