A 22-year-old man has admitted to taking part in the robbery of a Hudson Valley electronics store before fleeing to Westchester with the proceeds, officials announced. Manhattan resident Aguibou Karambe pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Aug. 6 in Orange County Court to second-degree attempted robbery in connection with an incident in February 2023 that happened in the village of Monroe, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Friday, Aug. 9. There may be a new batch of “cord cutters” coming around as three cable TV services announced their intention to increase costs for consumers. According to Consumer Reports, Comcast, AT&T, and Spectrum all have plans to hike prices for cable TV subscribers for 2020. Bergen, Passaic, Hudson and Westchester were among those area counties most affected by nationwide outages reported overnight and into Thursday morning by AT&T and Verizon, according to monitoring reports. The problems reportedly began for Verizon around 1 a.m., most involving mobile phones, DownDetector.com reported. They peaked around 8 a.m. before beginning to drop but still were being reported just before 11:30 a.m. AT&T's problems climbed, meanwhile. Most involved Internet connections. Two men are behind bars after an armed robbery at an AT&T store in the Hudson Valley led to a high-speed chase through Sullivan and Orange counties ended off Route 17K in Bloomingburg on Friday afternoon. Westchester Woman Nabbed For Stealing ID To Buy $4K Worth Of iPhones
A 22-year-old woman was nailed for buying $4,000 in iPhones from an AT&T store using someone else's identity, said Bedford Police. Stephanie L. Zarcone of Neptune Ave. in New Rochelle was arrested Tuesday following an investigation and charged with grand larceny and identity theft in connection with the t $3,999.96 purchases of four iPhones on March 1, according to Lt. Vincent Gruppuso. Zarcone was arraigned in the Bedford Justice Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 25.
