Yonkers Democratic Primary Races Too Close To Call

YONKERS, N.Y. -The Democratic primary races for Yonkers City Council were too close to call Wednesday morning, with not all the votes counted. 

Corazon Pineda and incumbent Wilson Terrero were seeking the Democratic Party nod for the District 2 seat on the City Council. With 78 percent of the vote in as of 6 a.m. Wednesday, Pineda had 375 votes - 51 percent. Terrero had 355 votes - 49 percent.

Terrero is also running for the District 2 seat on the Independence ticket. 

Independent voters also had the opportunity to write-in a candidate.

Grace Borrani was seeking the position of council president on the Conservative ballot.  Conservative voters could also write in a candidate. She received 87 votes - 100 percent of the 79 percent that had been counted.

Ivy Reeves and Michael Rotanelli battled for the council president spot on the Democratic ticket. With 79 percent of the votes counted, Rotanelli received 1,656 votes - 52 percent. Reeves had 1,514 votes - 48 percent.
