Waverly Patrick, 53, of 2 Hudson St., pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident, both felonies, as well as aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Patrick was driving west on Valentine Lane at 9:28 p.m. June 22 when his Jeep Cherokee struck 16-year-old Keyairra Price, who was waiting to cross the street with a 15-year-old friend on their way to a store, prosecutors say.
The impact threw Price to the sidewalk while Patrick continued driving toward Riverdale Avenue. Price was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where she later died.
After the accident, Yonkers police searched for the vehicle and located it several hours later in a parking lot outside Patrick’s apartment building. Patrick was taken into custody and questioned.
Patrick’s blood alcohol level was later found to be in excess of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, prosecutors say.
Patrick will be sentenced March 27 in White Plains State Supreme Court.
