At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, fire crews were dispatched to the third floor of the apartment complex at 92 Oliver Ave., following reports of smoke stemming from a kitchen fire.
According to fire officials, more than three dozen responding firefighters had the flames knocked down and the blaze under control shortly after 3 a.m. The apartment that the fire started on was heavily damaged, and neighboring units suffered some smoke and water damage. Volunteers with the Red Cross were assisting the displaced residents to find temporary housing.
No residents suffered any reported injuries. According to a lohud report, one firefighter was treated for minor injuries at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
