Virginia Greehan, 76, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Virginia Greehan, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Thursday, July 2. She was 76.

Greehan was born in Yonkers to Thomas P. and Edith (nee Van Tassell) Dunford, graduating from Gorton High School and working as an administrative assistant for local physicians.

Greehan is survived by her children, Thomas and his wife, Patricia, Susan Branch and her husband, William, and Kenneth and his wife, Sherrie, sister Arline, grandchildren Thomas, Kelly, Matthew, Billy, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Aerin, Lila, and Bridget, and great-grandson Evan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo, sister Joan, and granddaughter, Meagan.

Visiting hours will be at Flynn Memorial Home on Central Park on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church in Yonkers on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Ferncliff Crematory Chapel in Hartsdale.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Speaks are welcomed.
