Marion Muller, 89, Former Yonkers Sunday School Teacher

YONKERS, N.Y. – Marion Anna Muller, formerly of Yonkers and most recently of Jefferson Valley, N.Y., died Jan. 14. She was 89.

Muller was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Danbury, Conn., to Joseph and Anna Wambold Marquard. She married John Muller on May 18, 1947, in the Bronx, N.Y. They lived in Yonkers, where they raised three children.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Putnam Valley, N.Y., as well as St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Yonkers, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many decades. She was an avid swimmer, bowler and golfer.

Her husband died in 1973.

Muller is survived by three children, Don (Nancy) Muller Sr., of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Janet (James) Sullivan, of Carmel, N.Y., and Sandra (Eric Stoppel) Muller, of Clinton Corners, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and her friend and caregiver of six years, Dora Kelly.

She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Putnam Valley. Cargain Funeral Home in Mahopac handled arrangements.
