Born July 23, 1940, in Queens, N.Y., she was a daughter of John and Margaret Smith Patterson. Runge was raised in Queens, where she attended local schools.
She graduated from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., as a registered nurse. On Dec. 17, 1960, she married Wilhelm L. Runge in Jamaica, N.Y.
Runge and her husband were owners of Runge Moving and Storage Co. She was a member of the Village Lutheran Church in Bronxville.
Her husband died on Sept. 22, 2009.
She is survived by six sons, Wilhelm L. II, Peter John (Ellen), Robert Hermann, Charles Edward (Melissa), Matthew James (Marisol) and Mark Andrew (Valarie) Runge; a sister, Gail Deason; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers.
