“Every year, 11,600 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with cancer, that’s 32 children every day,” Mayor Spano said in a statement. “Here in Yonkers, we joining the thousands of people, doctors, researchers and organizations that are coming together to fight back against cancer, and we are making great strides.”
Spano said many members of the City’s workforce are also participating in raising awareness of Childhood Cancer by wearing gold ribbon pins during the week of the 23rd and raising funds for the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation for Pediatric Cancer research.
