Now through July 31, the contest centers on discussions of the city’s culinary offerings, with a different conversation each week. Ethnic fare, gourmet dinners, deli specialties and other eats will all be topics for chewing the fat.
“Yonkers is such a mecca for food, with everything from pizza and burgers to gourmet restaurants, that you’ll enjoy joining the conversation just for fun,” said Mayor Mike Spano.
The discussions are being held on the Facebook page. To enter the contest, all you need to do is join the chats. Anyone 18 or older can enter if he or she is a resident of one of the 50 states or Washington D.C. Each player can receive one entry per week by posting, plus a second entry for the week if he or she submits a food photo with the post.
Generation Yonkers plans to use the photos to promote the contest and the city. When the contest is over, Generation Yonkers will hold a drawing with one grand prize winner who will receive the gift card, to be used at the restaurant or food establishment of the winner’s choice.
