New Rochelle Student Dies Leaving High School Community Reeling
The New Rochelle High School community is grieving the loss of a student whose untimely passing was announced by Superintendent Dr. Corey W. Reynolds on Thursday, Dec. 19.
The student, whose name has not been publicly released, passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, determination, and ambition, Reynolds said. The student was admired by staff and peers alike for her unwavering commitment to her education and her goal of creating a better future for her family, the superintendent added.

Lifelong Westchester Resident, 30, Remembered As Avid Traveler
Lifelong Westchester resident William "Billy" M. Gallicano, 30, died suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The New Rochelle resident was born on May 4, 1990 and graduated from New Rochelle High School, then studied corporate homeland security and attained a master's degree at Mercy College. He was passionate about volunteer work and found success with Solar CITIES.
Billy's family remembers him as an avid traveler, according to his obituary, and always "brought a piece of his travels back home to share with his family," according to his obituary.

Student Arrested For Alleged Sexual Abuse On School Grounds In Westchester, Police Say
A 14-year-old student at a Westchester high school is in police custody after allegedly being involved in a sexual assault on school grounds, police said.
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, a student alleged that she was sexually abused by another student at the New Rochelle High School in the past, prompting a police investigation.
On Friday, Jan. 10, investigators announced that they had arrested a teenaged student in connection to the incident.
