1 Dead, 2 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash
One person was killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley.
The crash took place in Rockland County around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 on Airmont Road and Route 59 in Ramapo.
An investigation into the crash found that a 2012 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 41-year-old female resident of Mahwah, New Jersey, was traveling eastbound on Route 59, said Lt. Blaine Howell, of the Ramapo Police.

White Plains Hospital Receives 'A' Grade For Patient Safety, Report Says
One hospital in the Hudson Valley is at the top of its class for keeping patients safe, according to a new report.
Westchester County's White Plains Hospital, located at 41 East Post Rd, has been assigned an "A" grade for patient safety in a new Fall 2022 report by the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for safety in hospitals.

Trio Indicted For Murder Of Hudson Valley Teen Set To Start Senior Year In High School
A grand jury has indicted three Hudson Valley men in the fatal shooting of a beloved 17-year-old high school student.
Rockland County resident Treynahel Cineus, age 17, of Spring Valley, was found shot to death at around 2:30 a.m. on July 8, in a parking lot on West Eckerson Road.
Cineus, who was about to begin his senior year at Ramapo High School, later died at Good Samaritan Hospital, according to police.
On Thursday, Aug. 11, a Rockland County grand jury indicted three Haverstraw men on murder and other charges related to the boy’s killing.

One Killed In Palisades Parkway Crash
A Hudson Valley man was killed during a two-car head-on crash on the Palisades Parkway.
The crash took place in Orange County in the town of Highlands around 4:45 a.m., Thursday, June 16.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Toyota Corolla, driven by Hugo Vasquez, age 67 from Spring Valley was traveling southbound in the northbound lane when he struck a 2006 Toyota TC head-on, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
Vasquez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Nevel said.

Town Supervisor Accused Of Driving Drunk After Hitting Utility Pole
A town supervisor in the Hudson Valley was arrested after hitting a utility pole while allegedly driving drunk, said the New York State Police.
The incident took place late Thursday, Aug. 22, or early Friday, Aug. 23 in Orange County, said Trooper Steven Nevel, a spokesman for the department.
Nevel said he had not received an official report yet, but according to the officer on the scene, Tuxedo Town Supervisor Michael Rost was driving southbound on Route 17 when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash, Nevel said.

Duranord Veillard of Spring Valley, who was believed to be the oldest resident in the Hudson Valley, died Friday, June 1, at the age of 111.
Although officials records are not kept, Veillard's family members and his wife Jeanne Veillard, believed them to be area's oldest married couple, having been married since 1932. Jeanne turned 108 in May.
Born in Haiti to Miciade Toulou and Tatice Veillard on Feb. 28, 1907, Veillard studied law and served as a judge for a number of years in his hometown before immigrating to the U.S. in the late 1960’s.
