A home in Westchester was evacuated after firefighters discovered damage caused by a gas leak, officials said. The incident happened on Saturday, March 23, when damage was found at a home in Pelham Manor on Shore View Circle, according to village officials. Firefighters soon responded to the residence and evacuated the home after detecting a strong gas odor. A mother and a son managed to escape an intense Hudson Valley house fire that was gas-fed. Westchester Elementary School Evacuated For Gas Smell
A Westchester elementary school had to be temporarily evacuated when the smell of gas was reported in the area. Colonial Elementary School in Pelham was evacuated as a precaution at approximately noon on Friday, Sept. 27, when there was reports of the smell of gas near the building. A gas leak has closed a roadway in Port Chester as police, fire and Con Ed employees work to find the source of the leak. The fire department has been on the scene on Ellendale Avenue for more than three hours trying to locate the source of the leak that is causing a strong odor of gas in the area, said the Port Chester Police.
