A drunk driver with multiple convictions in the past decade faces a felony charge after being caught while intoxicated in his vehicle at a bank in Northern Westchester, police said. Yorktown resident Guillermo Almanzar-Estevez, age 54, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 4 on drunk driving charges, Yorktown Police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 8. State Police To Crack Down On Drunk, Drugged Driving Over July 4th Weekend
With the July 4th holiday just days away, New York State Police announced troopers will increase patrols and crack down on drunk and drugged driving and other traffic infractions during the weekend. State troopers will conduct sobriety checkpoints and target reckless and aggressive driving statewide to keep highways safe during one of the busiest summer holidays for travel. State Police Ramp Up DWI Patrols Through Thanksgiving Weekend
Motorists should be extra cautious when making the rounds through the end of the weekend. From Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 25, the New York State Police say they will be increasing enforcement efforts statewide for Thanksgiving week. Motorist Who Hit I-684 Guardrail Multiple Times Convicted Of Aggravated DWI
A motorist who hit a guardrail on I-684 multiple times with a child in the car was convicted in a jury trial of aggravated driving while intoxicated, a Class E felony, on Thursday, Aug. 23. Clayton Edmonds, who seven prior convictions, was driving from the Saw Mill Parkway onto I-684 on Nov. 22, 2017, when three calls for erratic driving were made to Westchester 911, Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy said.
