The incident happened on Interstate 684 North in Bedford in the area of Exit 4, when a smoldering fire began underneath the cab of a tri-axle dump truck, forcing it to pull over, the Bedford Fire Department said on Monday, March 11. A passing motorist tried to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful. Crash Involving Overturned Tanker Truck Leads To Westchester Road Closure An overturned tanker truck crash has closed a stretch of a busy roadway as police investigate the crash. The incident took place in Northern Westchester around 12:44 p.m., Monday, June 8, when a sewage tanker overturned on Route 22 in Bedford, the Bedford Fire Department said. ID Released For Man Killed In Head-On Westchester Crash A man killed in a head-on crash in Northern Westchester has been identified. Diego Trejo, 22, of Pound Ridge, was killed around 9:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, on South Bedford Road, said Bedford Police Lt. Andrew Bellantone. According to Bellantone, a preliminary investigation found that a 2018 BMW 750I traveling eastbound collided head-on with Trejo's 2004 Acura TSX sedan traveling westbound.  Trejo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, police said.
