White Plains Tigers Roar to Second Straight Win

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.  – Buoyed by last week’s first victory of the season and the return of running back Darrell Everett, the White Plains Tigers fought off a stubborn Suffern team to post a 20-17 victory Thursday.

Tigers’ quarterback Jeff Avery ran for a touchdown, and Everett, who missed last week’s game recovering from a concussion, also scored a touchdown for the Tigers (2-2), who opened the season with two losses before winning two straight.

“I felt great playing,” Everett said. “This was my first time really being healthy all season, so it was great to go full blow and be able to get a huge win that keeps our playoff hopes alive.”

Adrian Clinton intercepted a pass in the third quarter to stop a Suffern drive and Tim Hodges recovered a fumble that led to the Tigers winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.

White Plains will host Yorktown (3-2) Saturday at 7 p.m. with hopes of keeping their playoff hopes alive, as will the Huskers.
