Christopher Thomas, 32, and his girlfriend had argued all day Saturday about Thomas’ alleged prescription drug problem, police said. When the girlfriend tried to email pictures of the drugs to his employer, he lunged at her, pushed her down and grabbed her iPad, police said.

She left the house and called the police. When they responded around 11 p.m., Thomas told them his girlfriend has a history of bipolar disorder and that he acted in self-defense.

Thomas was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and third degree-menacing, both misdemeanors, and held for court.
