Emma Fox, who had been held at the county facility in Valhalla, also faces charges of driving while intoxicated, lohud.com reported. The Rye High School graduate is accused of mowing down 21-year-old Robby Schartner, a lacrosse player and marketing major at Manhattanville College in Harrison, the lohud.com report said.
Schartner, a graduate of Brookfield High School in Brookfield, Conn., lived in Fishkill in Dutchess County, but had previously lived in Garrison in Putnam County. He was set to have graduated from Manhattanville College in the spring of 2018.
He was struck and killed around 5 a.m. one Sunday in October on Westchester Avenue in White Plains, lohud.com reported.
Schartner, who had been out partying with friends on Mamaroneck Avenue, had gotten separated from the group and, because buses were no longer running at that hour, had been walking back to campus when he was killed, the lohud.com story said.
