White Plains Train-Push Suspect Held On Psychiatric Watch

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The homeless man that stands accused of pushing a woman in front of a Metro-North train in White Plains is being held for psychiatric observation after two doctors deemed him unfit to stand trial, according to LoHud.com

Howard J. Mickens, 39, was accused of pushing Wagner College student Maya Leggat into an oncoming northbound Metro North train at the White Plains station, according to LoHud.com.

Leggat, a student at Hunter College who lives in White Plains, suffered severe leg and finger injuries and is now in a rehabilitation facility after undergoing several surgeries at the Westchester Medical Center, according to LoHud.com
