The Charter School of Educational Excellence (CSEE) Owls, based in Yonkers, defeated AECI2 of the Bronx on Saturday, Nov. 9, with a decisive 3-1 victory in the City Schools Sports Association (CSSA) 2024 High School Varsity New York State championship game.

The win avenged a narrow defeat the Owls suffered against AECI2 during their homecoming game in October and cemented their status as a "dominant force" in the league, school officials said.

“The players’ hard work and commitment truly paid off,” said CSEE athletic director Michael DeSimone, who added, “This victory showcases not only their athletic talent but also their dedication to excellence in all areas of life.”

In addition to their success on the court, the 13-player varsity volleyball team maintains a collective 4.0 GPA, exemplifying their commitment to academics.
