Snow Emergency Issued For Tarrytown

RIVERTOWNS, N.Y.  — A snow emergency has been declared in Ardsley, Hastings-on-Hudson and in Tarrytown.

The following actions are being instituted by the Village of Tarrytown: A snow emergency took effect at noon Monday. 

Vehicles parked on snow emergency designated roadways must be removed from the street. 

The Village will provide notice on the website and via automated telephone messaging when the snow emergency is lifted. Here is a list of snow emergency parking

Ardsley has declared a State of Emergency  effective 9 p.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Dobbs Ferry, a State of Emergency has been declared beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and will remain in effect until rescinded by a subsequent order. "The one thing we wish to stress the most, please do not drive, keep off the streets, and stay inside," Mayor Hartley Connett said.

The Department of Public works is working to clear all roads as quickly as possible, but with the amount of snow expected, readers are asked to keep off the roads and stay home.

All municipal offices in Dobbs Ferry, including the Library and Embassy Club will be closed and all programs have been canceled, for Tuesday.

The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson declared a Snow Emergency on Monday as of 4 p.m.

"Our police, fire and DPW departments are methodically preparing for this storm and will be fully on call starting Monday and throughout the storm," Mayor Peter Swiderski said.

The village offices and the Hastings Public Library will be closed on Tuesday.

"Please do not call the police department unless there is an medical emergency, downed power lines or exploding or burning transformers, and downed trees either across roadways or that have damaged homes," Swiderski said.
