Not Over Yet: Damaging Winds Could Bring Down Trees, Cause More Power Outages
The rainfall from a strong storm system that swept through the area has moved east, but damaging winds remain. Winds out of the west at 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour during the day on Friday, Nov. 1 could cause more power outages. Tens of thousands in the region already got power knocked out during Halloween evening and the overnight. Slip-Slide Conditions Causing Metro-North Delays
Slip-slide conditions of rain combined with fallen leave are causing delays late Friday evening on the Metro-North Harlem Line. The delays of up to 20 minutes are as a result of the conditions between North White Plains and Southeast, Metro-North said. Customers are being advised to listen to announcements at local stations. Circuit Issue Causes Delays On Metro-North
Update: Metro-North New Haven Line serve is now operating or close to schedule after earlier delays due to circuit issues. Original report: Metro-North customers are experiencing delays of 35 minutes or more on the New Haven Line late Monday afternoon. The delays are as a result of earlier circuit issues in the vicinity of Southport in Fairfield County. Metro-North Experiences Hours-Long Delays
This story has been updated. Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations. Delays were as long as 20 minutes at times.

Update, 4 p.m. The Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines are now operating on or close to schedule, Metro-North reports. Update, 3:30 p.m. Residual delays remain across all Metro-North lines after the 138th Street Bridge was opened to let a ship pass through.
