Hudson Valley Gets $38M For ‘Environmentally Friendly’ Pedestrian, Biking Projects The Hudson Valley is set to receive more than $38 million in federal funding to help pay for new pedestrian and biking projects around the region. New York was awarded a total of $178.8 million in federal dollars that will go to 75 communities across the state for projects that promote environmentally friendly modes of travel and make it easier and safer to bike and walk, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office. ID Released For Truck Driver Killed In Hudson Valley Lounge Crash This story has been updated. Police have identified a truck driver who was killed after crashing into a popular lounge and music venue in the Hudson Valley. Dutchess County resident Craig Allen Dickson, age 33, of Hopewell Junction, was killed around 10:40 a.m., Monday, June 20 when his 2020 Peterbilt tractor-trailer crashed into Junior's Lounge in the town of Poughkeepsie. One Killed In Crash Involving Sheriff's Office Cruiser In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a person was killed in a crash involving a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 in Dutchess County, in the Town of Hyde Park on Route 9G at the intersection with Elks Lane. A pedestrian who suffered life-threatening injuries was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where the person was later pronounced dead, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Two Students Charged In Threats To Hudson Valley Schools Two students were arrested in unrelated incidents for threatening area schools in the Pine Plains and BOCES school districts, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
