NY Residents Can Audition For 'American Idol' — As Long As You Were Born Between These Dates Are you the next "American Idol?" The popular ABC singing competition is holding virtual auditions for the upcoming season this month and next. As long as you are of a certain age (scroll down for audition dates). According to the "American Idol" casting application website, contestants must be born between June 2, 1995 and Feb. 15, 2010.  Additionally, contestants must be legal U.S. residents authorized to participate in the entire competition. Marie Menna-Doescher, age 61, of Eastchester, died on Tuesday, May 17, after earlier surviving a 9/11 linked cancer relating to her volunteer work for the Red Cross at Ground Zero, according to her obituary. DeSilva has resided at Bethel Nursing Home in Ossining since 2016. She is the oldest of 12 children and worked as a baker for Reader’s Digest. DeSilva and her husband, Manuel raised their family in Pleasantville before he passed away. She is the mother to Josephine of Briarcliff Manor and Manuel of New Hampshire (deceased).
