MTA To Spend Unprecedented $5 Billion For Metro-North, Including Access To Penn Station After years of rider complaints and problems with the entire infrastructure system, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced it plans to invest an unprecedented $51.5 billion into the region’s subways, buses, and railroads over the next five years.
