US Presidential Scholar: Westchester Student Named Candidate For Top Honor
A senior at a Northern Westchester high school has been nominated for one of the nation's highest honors for students. Daniel Ndocaj, a senior at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, has been selected as a candidate for the US Presidential Scholars Program, the Byram Hills Central School District announced on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Ossining High School was recognized as the “Most Successful School” award recipient at the ninth annual GENIUS Olympiad, which took place between Monday, June 17 and Saturday, June 22 at SUNY Oswego. The Olympiad included international students submitting a total of 1,657 projects in regional competitions with 789 accepted for the finals. The award is based on the number of participants and the total awards received. Nine sophomore students presented their scientific research as competitors at the Somers Science Research Fair at Somers High School on Saturday, June 1.
