ID Released For Woman Killed In Double-Fatal Westchester Crash
Police have identified a 56-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle crash that also killed a longtime area police officer in Northern Westchester over the weekend. Denise Ryan, of Mahopac, was killed during the crash around 5:59 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 25, while driving her Honda Accord southbound on Route 6N in Yorktown, said Yorktown Police. The second driver killed was Michael J. Moore, a 50-year-old Mahopac resident, who also worked for the New York City Police Department before retiring from the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department in 2019. Off-Duty Officer ID'd As Victim Of Double-Fatal Westchester Crash
One of the victims of a double-fatal two-vehicle crash in Northern Westchester has been identified as a longtime police officer in Westchester who lived in Putnam County. The crash occurred in Yorktown at around 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25 on Route 6N. When Yorktown Police and fire officials arrived on the scene, they found Michael J. Moore, a 50-year-old Mahopac resident who was the driver of one of the vehicles, dead. Mahopac Man Charged With DWI After Crash In Yorktown
A Mahopac man is facing DWI charges after a crash in Yorktown, according to police. Yorktown Police say they responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 6N in Yorktown on Thursday, April 25 around 3 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 64-year-old Joseph Raitano of Mahopac, was allegedly intoxicated, according to police. Raitano was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Department. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and subsequently released on his own recognizance.
