Update: New Bridge For Pedestrians, Cyclists Installed Over Thruway In Tarrytown Following a busy night of extensive road work, a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge has been installed over the New York Thruway in Westchester, officials announced.  The 270-foot-long bridge was installed on Saturday morning, June 29 along Route 9 (South Broadway) over Interstate 87 in Tarrytown, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.  The bridge is part of a $13.9 million multimodal project to extend the new Tappan Zee Bridge side path one mile south to Lyndhurst Mansion. Bridge Construction To Cause Multi-Week Lane Closures On Route 9 In Tarrytown The construction of a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the New York Thruway is set to cause a series of lane reductions on a busy main route in Westchester for six weeks, officials said. The assembly of a new 270-foot-long pedestrian and bicycle bridge on Route 9 (South Broadway) over Interstate 87 in Tarrytown will begin on Wednesday, May 29, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.  The six-week project will require lane reductions to be implemented on Route 9 near Route 119 and Paulding Avenue.
