A 54-year-old man faces child pornography possession charges after placing hidden cameras in the bathroom of a public park in the Hudson Valley to capture images of young girls, officials announced. Putnam County resident John Towers of Mahopac was arrested on Thursday, April 18 on child pornography charges, the US Attorney's Office of the Southern District of New York announced. 2-Car Crash Hospitalizes 1, Closes Part Of Busy Hudson Valley Road
A two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley sent one person to the hospital and caused a brief closure on a busy roadway. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, April 17 just before 10 a.m., when two cars collided on Route 6N in Mahopac near Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving first responders soon closed Route 6N at the nearest intersections and tended to the drivers' injuries. One driver was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital while the other refused medical attention.

Undercover Operation Leads To Arrest Of Hudson Valley Man For Attempted Rape
A lengthy undercover operation has led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley man for attempted rape and other charges. After completing the five-week investigation, New York State Police say it determined Putnam County resident Ravi Masand, age 46, traveled in his vehicle from his residence located in the hamlet of Mahopac to Orange County with the intention to meet a 10-year-old Middletown girl to engage in various sexual acts. A 53-year-old Hudson Valley man faces child pornography charges following a search of his residence, police announced. Putnam County resident John Towers of Mahopac was arrested on Friday, March 29 after he was caught in possession of images depicting the sexual abuse of children, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday, April 2. Several Hudson Valley residents experienced temporary power outages as crews worked to repair downed wires on a busy road. The outages occurred in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, March 19 at around 2:45 p.m., when several power lines fell on Old Union Valley Road in the area of Route 6 and Mi-Anna Drive in Mahopac, according to Carmel Police. An unlicensed spa in the Hudson Valley was shut down when authorities discovered it had been operating without the proper permits, police said. The Putnam County business, located in downtown Mahopac, was shut down on Thursday, Feb. 16 following numerous complaints from residents, Carmel Police announced. A 23-year-old man was arrested after leading police on a chase in the Hudson Valley until his motorcycle became disabled, authorities said. 3 Hospitalized After Car Strikes Pole On Road Near Westchester Border
Three people were taken to a hospital following an early morning crash in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Saturday, Feb. 3 just before 4:30 a.m., when a car crashed into a pole on Croton Falls Road in Mahopac near the Westchester border, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.
