Woman Rescued After Buildings Collapse During Storm In Hudson Valley
A woman who had been trapped for several hours was pulled from the rubble by rescuers Monday night after a building collapsed onto two others in Poughkeepsie. Rotanya Hargrove was alert and conscious when she was rescued at about 8 p.m., nearly four hours after a vacant, seven-story building collapsed onto two other buildings during a severe thunderstorm with gusty winds. Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety
In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter. The incident unfolded around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday when City 911 received a call reporting a suicidal male on the walkway, at approximately mid-span, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Five Juveniles In Stolen Vehicle Take Police On High-Speed Chase
A carload of juveniles in a stolen car took police on a high-speed chase early Friday from the City of Poughkeepsie before being stopped in the Town of Amenia, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. The event took place around 1:15 a.m. when sheriff's deputies responded to a call for help from the City of Poughkeepsie Police to stop the vehicle which wasn't complying, said Capt. John Watterson. 5-Year-Old Hudson Valley Boy Goes Missing
Police are asking for help in locating a 5-year-old boy missing from the City of Poughkeepsie who may have been snatched by his father. Noah J. Cruz was last seen on Feb. 16 at a local pizza restaurant with his paternal grandmother. According to the state's Missing Persons Clearinghouse, he was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray jacket, black sweatpants and black Nike sneakers.
