Hudson Valley Man Charged With Promoting Sexual Performance By Child
A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for multiple counts of allegedly promoting a sexual performance by a child. He was arrested in Carmel on Wednesday, Aug. 10. In March, investigators assigned to the department's Bureau of Criminal Investigation received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that images and videos of child sexual abuse material were being shared online from a residence in the Town of Carmel, said Capt. Authorities are asking for help in identifying possible victims from throughout the country in a sextortion investigation involving a New York man from Westchester County. The FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force and Port Chester Police Department issued the joint advisory on Friday, Feb. 5. A referral from law enforcement from an out-of-state agency led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley resident who was allegedly sharing child sexual abuse material through a chat program, authorities announced. A 34-year-old registered sex offender is behind bars after an investigation by members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation into the online possession of images of child sexual abuse material. The arrest of Shawn Waters of Oak Street in the Village of Brewster came after members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on Thursday, Dec. 13, Sheriff Robert L. Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Man For 'Possessing, Promoting' Child Porn
A 50-year-old man has been sent to jail without bail after a month-long investigation led to his arrest on charges of possessing and promoting obscene sexual performance by a child, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. said. Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s office, armed with a search warrant, conducted a search of the Putnam Valley home of Alex Amoroso and seized multiple electronic devices on April 19.
