Rollover Crash Victim From Westchester Rescued From Car, Then Nabbed For Drunk Driving: Police
Several people were nabbed on drunk driving charges in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend, including a Westchester woman rescued from a rolled-over car and a taxi driver, police said. The arrests were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and were all made over Columbus Day weekend. The first incident happened on Friday, Oct. 11 in Putnam Valley, when a car crashed and flipped on Church Road in the area of Kramers Pond Road. Man Charged With Felony DWI Following Crash In Yorktown
A 38-year-old Cortlandt Manor man was charged with felony DWI after a two-car accident Saturday afternoon at Old Crompond Road and Pine Grove Court. Giovanni Loaiza was charged with a felony because he had a prior driving while intoxicated conviction in the last 10 years. He was also charged with driving with a revoked license, a Class E felony and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test. Loaiza was transported to Westchester County Jail and is due back in court on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.
