Sleepy Hollow's Berger Jumps to Third in State

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow High School girls' long jumper Gillian Berger placed third in the Division 1 section among public school athletes Friday at the New York State Track and Field Meet at Cicero North High School in upstate Syracuse.

Berger, the Section 1 Class B and League II-B champion in the triple jump, long jump and 100-meter dash, hit a jump of 38 feet, fifth best overall and third best in the public school field.

Hackley's A.J. Wolf took first place in the Division 2 discus with a throw of 180-2, teammate Alyza Ngbokoli won the Division 2 400-meter hurdles and Hackley's boys' relay teams placed took second in the Division 2 400-meter relay and third place in the 1,600 relay.
