Sleepy Hollow Tries To Win Playoff Berth

ARMONK, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow and Byram Hills enter their game, Saturday, 2:30 p.m., off two opposite results.

The Headless Horsemen crushed Peekskill, 32-6, while the Bobcats sufferered their second consecutive loss, a 39-3 setback to Lakeland. Both teams enter the game with 3-2 records.

Sleepy Hollow will be out to break a pattern which has had the Headless Horsemen alternating wins and losses through five games.

Sleepy Hollow ran for a season-high 315 yards last week, highlighted by a 117-yard performance by L.J. Garrant. Steven Bencosme added 82 yards. Quarterback Nick Vallo had his first sub-100-yard passing day, but he did not need to throw the ball with his running game chewing up yards.

The Byram Hills’ offense has sputtered in its two losses, scoring just 16 points. It will not get any easier against an opportunistic Sleepy Hollow defense.

A Sleepy Hollow win would secure a playoff spot going into its final game of the regular season next week against Yonkers.

Byram Hills needs a win in this game or its last regular-season game next week against Beacon to lock up a playoff spot.
