Irvington Girls Eliminate Pleasantville in Class B

IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Brittni Lai scored a game-high 19 points to lead the way as the Irvington girls’ basketball team defeated visiting Pleasantville 68-23 in the opening round of the Section 1 Class B playoffs.

The two-time defending New York State Class B champion and top-seeded Bulldogs (18-1) rolled to a quick 29-6 lead after one quarter and coasted the rest of the way to advance to next week’s quarterfinal round where they will host No. 9 Valhalla in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Lai hit on three 3-pointers, Alexis Martins added 17 points and Marley Giddins contributed 15 for the Bulldogs.

Anne Marie DiCarlo scored nine points to lead the Panthers and teammate Remi Manni added seven points for Pleasantville.
